Meet a Subscriber - Bryan Steel
Our latest 'Meet a Subscriber' feature is with Nottingham's own Bryan Steel, a 2 time Olympic Medalist 🥈🥉 and 5 times World Championship medalist 🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅. Like most of our subscribers he loves to be out on his bike and has been lucky enough to have a career where he gets to do just that.......

Name: Bryan Steel Age (it is only a number!!): 52
Occupation: Owner of Bryan Steel Coaching Tell us about yourself: I started cycling at 14 and at 22 I went to my first Olympic games in Barcelona 1992. I went to the next three Olympics, winning Bronze in 2000 and Silver in 2004. I’ve also raced at 14 World Championship winning 5 medals. I retired from racing in 2004 and now run Bryan Steel Coaching, where I work to help others try to and achieve their cycling goals. Are you on Social Media? If so where can you be found? Raleigh Europa was my first race bike Current bike: Lapierre Aircode Dream bike: Lapierre Aircode (I’m very lucky to be sponsored by them so get to ride my dream bike for free) Favourite place to ride: Right out of my front door and on to the roads of glorious Nottinghamshire. If you could cycle anywhere in the world, where would it be? Greece Why is cycling special to you? Cycling is very social and a great way of just forgetting about the rest of the world. Biggest cycling achievement (distance/days/event): It would have to be winning my first Olympic medal in Sydney! (TBH it doesn't get much bigger than that! Ed) Do you have a yearly distance target? 26,000km Any cycle trips coming up? I’m running a training camp in Greece in March 2022, which I’m really looking forward to putting the participants through their paces. Do you have any health goals? To still be able to ride a bike at 80 What benefits do you feel from taking VitxCycle? I have noticed my recovery has got a lot better and over the time I have been taking VitxCycle and as a result I have also been able to up my training to a new level. How would you describe your cycling style? Smooth and fast but it has been a lot faster!
